Pictures galore!
Cape Town City Hall! It was designed with the Big Ben clock tower in London in mind! Nelson Mandela gave his first speech to the public from the balcony just below the clock the day he got out of jail from Robben Island.
Noordhoek beach- the most windy beach I've ever been to! We went here for one afternoon while we were at the Cornerstone camp. You can't tell by this picture, but behind those big rocks were a big group of surfers on the huge waves!
Another picture from my weekend with Rachel in Kysna. This is a view from the Featherbed Nauture Preserve where the "two heads" come together in the bay. We took a beautiful hike from this side all the way down to the water! The color of the rocks against the water was an abosolutely stunning view!
TDF! (Tie-Day Friday) I know it's a little early for this(it's Thursday now) but I just had to post this picture. This picture was taken a couple weeks ago and I completely forgot about it! It happened to be Friday the day it was taken and I was thinking about all you guys back home that were wearing ties! I know I'm not really part of the 301 tradition, but I thought I'd represent this infamous day while here in a South African mall. NO, I did not buy the tie, so really it was illegal for me to even take this picture of myself while in the store. I miss you 301 Lissner guys!
Valentine's Day! All 9 of us made reservations for dinner and entertainment at the Stardust restaurant in Rondebosh! We had a wonderful time despite the amount of waiting we had to do for our food! We ate our appetizer at 9 PM, our main course at 11 PM, and had to get our dessert to go! All of the waiters and waitresses were performers during the night, including singers, dancers, and drummers! Funny story- we happened to be the only non-couple table in the place, so just as we were about to eat our main course they asked to see if anyone in the audience was single! They obviously saw that our table could possibly have someone single present! Everyone immediately pointed towards me! Even though I tried to hold back, I just could not resist the pressure! I went up on stage and two guys serenaded me with some love song called "I'm Loving Angels Instead" which they replaced with "I'm loving Anna Instead" Anyone heard of that one? They had me sit on a stool while they sang the song. I had no idea what was going on until they started "fighting over me"! So I played along and tried to enjoy myself as much as possible! We have it all on video for people to see when I get back!
The picture above is of (from left to right) Emily, Allison, me, and Becca.
Yes, I had a lot more time today with the computers and took full advantage to post all these pictures! Hope you like them! I still need to get a decent one of my host family!
